Parenting: Sixteen and Horny

My middle child, who is sixteen, has begun sending messages to girls that he wants to engage in sexual activity.  When I read the messages I began to hyperventilate. It was just yesterday that he was running around stark naked trying to not get dressed and couldn’t sleep alone after watching scary movies.  I guess I have blinked through the majority of his years and now I am dealing with this.

I was sixteen when I found out I was pregnant. It was too late for my mom to find text messages in my cell phone; oh yea, we had no such thing! I was seventeen when I had my first child and I try my best to not have my children rearing kids at a young age.  So, now you can imagine why I am so heartbroken after reading these messages.

As much as I would like to look at him as being my young son and want to keep him tied to my hip, I realize that is pure silliness. He is growing up so fast and wants to start making some “grown” man choices.  I just want to believe that I have instilled in him the values that will dictate some good decision-making on his part.

Friend’s Escapades: Lusting After the Boss

Jessica has been hinting around with how she has eyes on a guy.  After having a few drinks the other night, she filled me in on who that guy was.  She has been having eyes on her boss. Internally, I was processed what she told me like this; Her BOSS? What the Hell?

I was speechless. Of course I began to ask the questions.  Does he know you like him?  Do he even know you exist?  She went on to tell me that she has been having a high school crush on him since the first time she saw him.  She said that her eyes lightens up when they are around each other.  She went in detail about it (yes I got her permission to share):

Eyelashes from Hell

Shay came to work with these luxurious eyelashes.  They were so ‘five-star’ that you couldn’t miss them, especially the way she batted them, lol.  She told me she could wait to let me see them, so I could get a pair of my own.  Shay scheduled an appointment for me on Thursday, so I could surprise EP with my long, flirtatious lashes.  Also, remember I am somewhat chicken, so I asked if she would come with.

Well the afternoon came when it was time for me to get my engaging lashes.  I arrived a few minutes before Shay, so I was a nervous wreck.  I was so scared and I don’t know why.  This moment reminded me of the time when I get my navel ring…so scared for nothing!  I wouldn’t let Kim begin the applying process until Shay got there.

Sidebar: The Name Change

I have changed the blog’s name to a more suitable name for me.  Reason being, I have been writing about EP for a while and I realized, he has mastered that “uncharted river” and he isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.  The flow of the blog will not change nor will my adventures, because I am still in a “long distance” relationship and living that 'single' girl life.

Married/Attached Men

Married/attached men disgust me!  Why you may ask ? Because they are married to a woman or they live with one day in and day out with, but still want to cheat on her.  They will come at you with all they have instead of putting that into their marriage or relationship.  Plus, they don’t want you intruding on their “family time”.  When all is said and done (if you chose to go down that road with a married man/attached man) they will deny ever knowing you!  So why put yourself in those shoes in the first place.

Lately, I have been approached by several married and/or attached men.  These men know that I am in a relationship with EP and still try to press up against me. The more I tell him 'no' or ignore them, the more they press up against me.

My Countdown to Christmas: 8 Days & Counting…

This weekend was a great one. EP flew in for a visit and to help celebrate my middle child’s birthday.  We took Zay to a Pelicans game in the city.  My son was really stoked about going and he thoroughly enjoyed the game.  He also was able to score a picture with the New Orleans Pelican Dance Team; you go boy!  We couldn’t keep the kid from blushing.
My two guys was able to get me to the mall on Saturday.  I hate going to the mall around Christmas time.  Don’t get me wrong, I love shopping but not when the stores are overcrowded and people are pushing and shoving.  It is something about being in tight places with a lot of people as well as the darn heat is on explode in the stores, that I just can’t handle.  However, I was able to get two gifts off of my list. My brother maybe impressed this year; two down, MANY to go.

My Countdown to Christmas: 13 Days & Counting…

It was a wonderful day in the office today.  We had a divisional office party; our department is divided into three different divisions.  We got together, played the “White Elephant Gift Exchange” game and watched “Home Alone”.   Pizza, chips, drinks, popcorn, fruits and presents were all available.

This was our message for our White Elephant Gift Exchange:
White Elephant gift is never purchased. Just look throughout your house, your garage, a dumpster, or any other area to find something that just begs to be passed on to a more appreciative recipient.  Also, remember to use a little caution in selecting the appropriate gift for the office environment, but not so much as to lessen the festive nature of this event.
