Sidebar: Ratchet TV Foolery, "Sorority Sisters"

My Twitter timeline and Facebook feeds were off the charts about this show.  Therefore, I watched every cringing moment of this foolishness because I didn’t want to criticize it before actually seeing the show.
First, let me state that as a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, I am appalled and ashamed of the show.  The show was a minstrel show and has folly all around it.

In no way should educated and dignified women of these organizations act this way.  The misrepresentation of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Zeta Phi Beta and Sigma Gamma Rho has me floored.  I am having a hard time trying to wrap my head around the idea that my sorority sisters & other sorority sisters selling out their organizations for a week of fame.

Married/Attached Men

Married/attached men disgust me!  Why you may ask ? Because they are married to a woman or they live with one day in and day out with, but still want to cheat on her.  They will come at you with all they have instead of putting that into their marriage or relationship.  Plus, they don’t want you intruding on their “family time”.  When all is said and done (if you chose to go down that road with a married man/attached man) they will deny ever knowing you!  So why put yourself in those shoes in the first place.

Lately, I have been approached by several married and/or attached men.  These men know that I am in a relationship with EP and still try to press up against me. The more I tell him 'no' or ignore them, the more they press up against me.

Friend's Escapades: A Cold Disappearance

A few days ago, during my time of writing my tell all blog entry about the relationship the changed my life (coming very soon), one of my girlfriends called to have girlfriend talk; I have her permission to share this with you.  She told me that she was finished and done with her Boo.  I was a little set back because she had meet him about a month ago and she was all gung ho about him. So of course I had to ask her for details.  She opened up the flood gates and went to sharing.

She met this guy on Facebook and they started texting and messaging from that point on. He is her fraternal brother so of course she knew she had snagged a potential partner. He was on her level.

She went on to say they meet up one weekend and she had a blast with him. He even went so far as to introduce her to his parents and other family members; sounds great, doesn’t it?  They bonded like a true couple. The conversations had turned into spending more time together.  They even scheduled weekend getaways in the near future.  Things were looking up until he got the “crumb cake”.

First Hand Knowledge of a Player

The other night, EP and I were partaking in some fun at Dave and Busters.  When this nice couple walks up to the bar and have a sit next to us.  I turned and noticed that the girl was a beautiful girl and the guy was good looking as well.

After a drink, the girl ask her Boo for a couple of dollars to go play some games. He handed her the money. Before she could walked off, he leaned over, kissed her and told her he loves her; aww so sweet!

Now hold on, because this is where I lost all respect for this guy.  He turns around to locate where she went.  When he spotted her, he turned back around, picked up his phone and began to text a chick.  I know you are asking how I know this.  Well, he placed his phone next to me on the bar.  His phone lit up and a chick’s name appeared.  Apparently, he must have told her that she was “just a friend”, because her name appeared when the messages came through.  Anyhoo, he would text this girl then turn around to see if his girl was in the same place. This went on for about fifteen minutes.

Sidebar: Stalker Alert

Recently, it was brought to my attention that I am being cyber-stalked.  This person has been following all of my social media involvement.  The funny thing is he isn’t on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram; well, to my knowledge!  Therefore, I am not really sure how he is getting his information about me, giggling as I type.
“Oh sorry, let me let you in on who it is…It is my ex-boyfriend.  He is harmless and I am not in any immediate danger!”
I have an idea, but not completely certain, this is the way he is finding out my whereabouts; you little sneaky devil.  He knows some very key things that are going on with me and has expressed some concern about them.  I guess I still run across his mind or he is missing what we had; ahem!

Work in Progress: Matter of Marriage

I am still digging deeper within myself so I can fix my issues before I venture into the next relationship.  My next issue, that needs attention, is the matter of marriage.

When it comes to marriage, this topic usually is the nail in the coffin!  I have been married before and it was an eye opener for me.  There were good days and of course in any marriage, there were those unbearable days.  Because I have been though a marriage I am hesitant about marrying again; who isn’t, right?

Going through the divorce to end that marriage, wasn’t like most. We didn’t fight over anything but it was still a low time in my life.  We both knew it was over and time to put our energy elsewhere.  We are better now as friends.  Divorce for anyone can be difficult and it just something that I don’t want to experience again.  Some "love struck" people may say that I will find that RIGHT one and divorce may not be an option, but I am a realist that crap happens.

Work in Progress: Communication

I know relationships are hard to maintain and you have to put in work for them to be successful.  Therefore, I dug deeper into what else I need to work on before I venture into any other relationships.

I started with my issue of communication, especially after speaking with a friend lately.  He said that this was one of my major hiccups.   So, let’s take a look at what is going on:

I believe that communication should flow both ways.  However, after all of the games and foolery that I have gone through with others, I have noticed that my communication is lacking lately!  I don’t give a potential the opportunity to make a mistake; I just jump right into my objective (you have to call or text me).

Do Not Answer

I made a horrible mistake this past weekend.  I gave my phone number to a guy and today, I am paying a huge cost.

I met this nice looking gentleman that I thought had great qualities as someone I could get to know more about.  He and I were engaged in conversation for at least an hour. We talked about family, sports, our likes and dislikes as well as predictions for that night’s game.  We exchanged phone numbers and said we would contact one another.

Mr. Gnat (because I just want to swat him) called me later that day about five times.  I didn’t know I had received all of these phone calls until after I got into an area that had better reception.   When I finally was able to return his phone call, he didn’t answer.  I left a voicemail explaining the situation and let him know that I wasn’t trying to ignore him.  Why didn’t I just leave it at THAT?????

Dating: The Texter

I went on a date with this gentlemen and I was finally having a good time.  We were at a local hang out spot that we both picked. Every now and then he would check his phone; at this point it didn’t bother me, because I know he has kids.  It became a problem when in mid conversation he picked up his phone to answer a text message. If you could have seen the look on my face, “priceless” wasn’t even a close enough description.  Dude, did you really just do me like the guy in the ESPN commercial?

From this point on, he became drawn to his phone.  He began to have a full blown conversation with this person via text message.  He would put the phone down and when the phone would blink he would pick up the phone and respond. So now; I am certain that this cannot be his kids.  I got annoyed and suggested, “Can you tell her that you will get with her after dinner or maybe tomorrow”?  I wanted him to know and understand that he was being down right rude!  He looked at me, chuckled and said, “Oh this is my boy”!  Fool, who do you think I am Wilma Foo Foo? Like hell, that is your boy!
