Friends Escapades: Girls' Day Out

Tee, Jaycee and I enjoyed a girls' day out recently. We all just needed a day away from kids, boyfriends and work.  We had an awesome time!  We left for the city early, so we had time to catch lunch, shop and shoot the crap.  Tee met me at my house, because we were going to ride with Jaycee.  She arrived around 9:30 am.

Once we got on the road, we began the truth conversation.  Meaning, if anyone of us asked the other a question, it had to be truthful.  Wow, did this open our eyes to our previous and current relationships as well as future plans.  Without spilling the tea, let’s just say it was extra juicy! Heck, I learned a lot about them and myself.

Adventures: Riding the Bus

EP wanted me to come and visit on a spur of the moment type of thing. I have put so many miles on my car driving back and forth from house to house, that we decided to try taking the bus.  So, we scheduled the trip on Wednesday for me to leave on Thursday after work.  Any one of my friends will tell you that: 1. I am a chicken, 2. I don’t like people in my personal space, & 3. I am impatient. None of this makes for bus riding material.

Any hoo, Thursday came and it was bus-riding time.  I get to the bus station with a few minutes to people watch.  There was this man that had his shirt tucked into his underwear, and they were brown, YUK!  Have you ever been to a Greyhound station? It has great writing material, but I digress.  I found a seat and sat down next to this guy that was looking around as skeptical as I was.  He asked me if I had ridden the bus before and I told him that I usually drive.  He said he does too and we should consider carpooling if the bus thing doesn’t work out. We got on the bus and everything was moving smoothly.  We decided to sit next to each other so no one else would be tempted to sit with us.

Love Spats: Men and the Remote Control

My coworker and I were asking each other if we had watch our shows, Dallas and Kim & Kourtney Takes Miami (KKTM).  I told her that I was able to watch some of Dallas but did get a chance to catch up on all of the episodes of KKTM. She then told me she had missed them because her beau was pouting because he wasn’t getting enough attention.

She went on to tell me that they are constantly fighting over the remote.  She said he even clutches it in a death grip when he is asleep. I laughed for a second and realized that EP does the same.

I began to enlighten her on my tug-a-war with EP and the remote.  I told her that I get to watch Sports Center or any other sports stations when we are together. If I try and go in the other room, then he pouts.  I usually have to go digging for the remote when he falls asleep.  But he fixed that by turning the TV off before he goes to sleep.

Adventures: Road Trip; Atlanta Bound

Recently, I took a road trip to see EP in Atlanta.  We had been planning this trip for a while.  We could never get an ideal time to for me to go.  Finally, we both agreed that Valentine’s weekend would be perfect.  I began preparing for the trip.

The first thing I needed to do was get the oil changed and made sure the right pressure were in the tires.  The technician checked all of the fluid levels and checked the windshield wipers.  He gave me the all clear and said to have a safe trip.  I checked car off of my list.

The next thing that had to be done was, get adequate amounts of snacks and drinks.  I went to the store and picked up some Planters trail mix, Smart Water, potato chips and of course a pack of gum.   There were the essential road trip food items that my sister-in-law and I would get during our trips.  I checked this off of my list too.  Now it was time to hit the road.

Adventure: Mr. Excellent Potential

A few months ago, I began conversing with a guy that turned out to be someone I am really digging.  He has excellent potential to be Mr. Jeigh, yes, I think I have found him!   He is on my level.  He meets all of the standards that are listed on my Beau Material Checklist.

I met Mr. Excellent Potential (EP) in a social setting on one of my getaways.  When I first saw him, his appearance captivated me.   Of course, I could not be myself, if I didn’t find something I didn’t like about him!  I noticed that he was wearing tennis shoes in this fine establishment, hey what can I say, I like a man in a suit!   My sister said, “Oh girl, see passed that stuff and get to know him”.   So, Jeigh went to work, bumping into him purposely and to my surprise he bumped back, cha -ching!

Adventures: On-line Dating Check In

I promised that I would keep you guys abreast on my on-line dating adventures, so here it goes.

Let me start off with; there are some creepy, strange, and scary people in this world.  The lines that you will get are phenomenal (being sarcastic).  I have received request from young boys to old men, and I mean old!  Some of them are really sexy and cute. The rest are a bit less desirable, I know looks are in the eye of the beholder, but that is where I will leave it.  Some knew how to peek my interest, before I would delete the message and some had no freaking clue.  I will share two messages that mimic the usual messages I receive.

Adventures: Online Dating

One of my friends persuaded me to try online dating.  I was very leery about doing such a thing because you hear the horror stories and get skeptical.  So, I said what hell and decided to try it out.  I found a website that was being pushed by Facebook, yea I know; probably the wrong place to start!  However, it wasn’t that bad of a starting point.

During the whole time I am creating my profile, my conscious is whispering in my ear; I can’t believe you are doing this!  I moved right on along, paid my conscious no attention at all and came up with a cleaver description about myself.  I wanted my profile to be honest and leave a little room for prospects to want to explore more about me.  I know; I am a little sneaky!
