Fitness: Bringing Mission 15 Back

Yea, yea! I know, I have been talking about these missions for a while.  Believe it or not they actually work; well if you stay focus.  If you don’t remember what Mission 15 is; click here!

Anyhoo, I am challenging myself again because Thanksgiving put me over the edge for my weight containment.  During Thanksgiving, Bayou Classic is on our annual schedule of family activities, which, that brings about worse eating & drinking habits. It is something about Mother’s chicken, Harrah’s 4am breakfast, The Mercedes Superdome’s Bloody Mary’s and not to mention Gene’s Po’boys after the game, mmm!  To go a step further, if you ever visit my mother’s house during this time, her potato pies are delectable and will put on some extra pounds on because you can’t just be content with just one slice.

Mission 15: Going for 20!

Well, I am back at challenging myself to lose those unwanted pounds, again.  Why not add this to my year of self-challenges, right?  This time, I am going for twenty pounds.  I want to make the mission more interesting and a greater one.

My previous challenge of Mission 15, I got those unwanted fifteen pounds off!  However, during the holidays, I managed to gain those back and some more!  Come on, don’t give me that look, you wouldn’t pass up potato pies, pecan candy, red velvet cake, cupcakes or any Christmas candy in eye sight, would you?  With summer and vacations coming up, now is time to get my butt back into shape.

Mission 15

A couple of months ago, I created a challenge for myself. I named the challenge, Mission 15.   Mission 15, is to lose fifteen pounds by the end of June.  I created this mission because I noticed that my clothing has gotten a little tight for my liking.  Everyone else says I look great at my current weight.  However, it isn’t what they see; it is what I am comfortable with about myself.  And no, I am not losing weight for ANYONE!  I want that swimsuit ready body; I am in a wedding in November and severely want to get rid of my “muffin top”!

Therefore, a friend and I began walking around the college campus where I work. Also, when we couldn’t get together, I walk around my neighborhood or a track located at a nearby school.  After I completed my walk and get home I would complete an ab workout.  We had been doing a great job, until the April showers begin to roll in.  So we began to put the walks off as well as my laziness settled in.
